Ruth Ann Potter Shannon

Ruth Ann Potter Shannon age 90, passed away on February 17, 2018. She was the daughter of the late William and Emily Potter. Preceded in death by her loving husband Charles E. Shannon. They married on February 15, 1948. Also preceded in death by her parents, sister Mildred Renick, brother Alfred Potter and Triplets Maynard, Myron and Marie Potter, grandson Scott Writsel, brothers in-law ­­­­­­­­Loren Renick, Jay Chaffin, Russell Shannon, Jim Carnes and Tom Shannon; sister in law Mary Ellen Shannon. Survived by her children Jeanne (Doug) Anderson, Becky (Jay) Writsel, Rocky (Patti) Shannon. Grandchildren Nathan (Michelle) Reid, Bethany (Scott) Schweitzer, Michele (Manny) Lopez, Stacey (Ryan) Sark, Brad (Jan) Shannon, Kristy Shannon, Becky (Jason) Justus, Chip Shannon; sister in law Janice Carnes and Patty Shannon; Many great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ruth served many years as the National Secretary of the Daughters of America Organization and was a 4-H advisor and Girl Scout leader. Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME 331 WEST MAIN ST., MT. STERLING, OH 43143. Funeral will be held at the funeral home Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Darbyville Cemetery.
