Sara “Irene” Vernon, 97, of Columbus, passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law, on January 19, 2024. Born on March 02, 1926, to the late Asa and Kathryn (Wingate) Hutchison in Crooksville, OH. Survived by her children; Paul Douglas Vernon (Yolonda), Linda Diane (James) Hall, Dennis Wayne Vernon (Laura). Her grandchildren; Chelsea Gulle (Jeff), Brandy Kemper (Wayne), Asa Vernon, Richard Hall (Kim), Margie Tate (Dante), Phillip Hall (Kara), Joshua Hall (Tiffany), Elizabeth Rayburn (Christopher), Alexandria Vernon. Her great-grandchildren; Lorenzo, Veronica, Lillian, Vivian, Jael, Keira, Myla, Weston, River, Ryan, Trevor, Wyatt, Christine, Amelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 58 years, William F. Vernon, and grandson, Timothy Hall. Her siblings; Elizabeth Hazlett, Asa Hutchison Jr., Edna Lloyd, Christina Allen, Kathryn Hatem, Fred Hutchison, Martha Yank, and Paul Hutchison.
In November 1951 she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism and spent the next 72 years declaring the kingdom good news; first as a publisher, then as a vacation/auxiliary pioneer and as a regular pioneer. She was instrumental in helping many gain accurate knowledge of the Holy scriptures.

A Memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (which she attended) at 3333 Main Street, Hilliard, OH 43026. Dante Tate will be officiating. February 10th and 4pm. The burial of her ashes will be in Crooksville, OH, near her parents’ graves.
