RICHARDSON Shirley Mae Richardson, resident of Apollo Beach, Florida, formerly of Mount Sterling, Ohio, died Monday, October 4, 2010 in Florida. Born June 11, 1935, to Thomas and Georgia (Werst) Midgley, she attended and graduated Mount Sterling High School in 1953 and went on to attend and graduate from Mount Carmel School of Nursing. She worked for 25 years at Fayette Memorial Hospital. After retirement she moved to Florida in 1992 where she discovered her passion for painting and became an accomplished water colorist. She is survived by her mother, Georgia Midgley; her husband, Philip E. Richardson; and children, Phyllis (Robert) Rinsma, Thomas (Kimberly) Richardson, and Bruce (Deanna) Richardson; grandchildren, Lindsey Richardson, Steven Rinsma, Scott Rinsma, Erin Richardson, Tyler Richardson, and Sarah Rinsma; sister, Sue (James) Douglas; and many nieces and nephews. Member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Sterling and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #74 in Mount Sterling. Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 10 at THE PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, OH. Service held Monday, October 11, at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Mike Berne. Interment at Pleasant Cemetery.
