Sonja Brown

Sonja Leno Prosser Brown was born June 27, 1938 in Ottumwa, IA and passed away Feb. 2, 2016. Preceded in death by father, Frank Prosser and husband, James Brown. Survived by mother, Kate Prosser, children; Julia (Douglas) Frost, Bill Brown, Kate (Joseph) Hunyor and David (Jayne Akison) Brown. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sonja was a teacher at St. Mary Magdalene School and retired from The Columbus Dispatch after 25 years. In her retirement years, she was involved in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Ann Simpson Davis Chapter; PEO Sisterhood; Hilliard Senior Center and Silver Sneakers. She most recently lived at Carriage Court of Hilliard. Sonja enjoyed traveling, gardening and genealogy. She also enjoyed her grandchildren. Friends may call Friday, February 5, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 until time of Catholic Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Private interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
