Stanley G. Welsh

The angels came to visit to take our loved one home. Stanley Gilbert Welsh, of Washington Court House, Ohio was born to Dennis W. and Velma Mae Hux Welsh on January 12, 1936. He departed this life at 12:08p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018. A true farmer at heart is what he truly enjoyed and lived to do. Over the span of his life he worked many other jobs taking care of his family. He loved fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, working with wood, building furniture pieces as well as lamps, rocking chairs for the grand kids and numerous other items for others to enjoy. Following the Cincinnati Reds was another thing he really enjoyed. He was a member of the Bloomingburg Fire Department for 32 years serving as Chief and as Assistant Chief. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Don and Jerry and infant sister Janet. Also, he was preceded by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Richard C. and Griffin M. Thompson and an infant daughter Cathy Ann. Stanley is survived by his beloved wife Joycelyn Dale Thompson Welsh of 63 years whom he married July 10, 1954; daughters: Paula K. Rowland of Washington Court House and Leah M. McMahon of Jeffersonville; sons: Stanley D. (Donna) Welsh of Bloomingburg and Richard A. (Sharon) Welsh of Sabina. He is also survived by his siblings: Earl (Elsbeth) Welsh of Delaware, OH, Robert (Jackie) Welsh of Washington Court House, Lynn (Tom) Dennis of Frankfort, OH and Lynda (Paul) Rodgers of New Holland, OH. He was greatly blessed by a host of grandkids, Great-Grand and Great-Great-Grandkids. Their numbers are numerous and his pride and joy. Also, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and an abundance of cousins survive him. Stanley was a member of Grace Community Church and enjoyed his Church Family.
