Stephen Dennis Clark, age 60 of Hilliard, Ohio died unexpectedly on May 4, 2020.  Steve was born on May 2, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio.  He is survived by Dawn, daughters Madison and Taylor, Siberian Husky Shyloh, mother Carole Clark, brothers Jeffrey Clark (Lori) and Matthew Clark, sister Cindi McClary (Skeet), sister-in-law Melissa Rogner (Kevin), parents-in-law Jim and Kay Hartigan, numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends and colleagues.  Preceded in death by father Dennis Clark.

Steve graduated from Bishop Ready High School in 1978, earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from The Ohio State University in 1982 and a Master’s Degree in Education. Steve was a dedicated father, husband and educator.  He shared his passion and love of history with students at Westland High School (Columbus) early in his career and at Hilliard Davidson High School for over 20 years.  When Steve wasn’t at school, you would find him on the softball field coaching and cheering on his daughters, times he truly cherished.  Steve was also a mentor and coached young athletes over the years in many different sports.  He loved debating politics and current events, Columbus IPA brews, and cheering on his beloved Cincinnati Bengals (#1 pick this year!).

A scholarship has been established in Steve’s memory to be awarded to Hilliard students who plan to pursue careers as Social Studies educators.  In lieu of flowers, Steve’s family requests contributions be made to his memorial scholarship fund.  Donations can be made online by visiting https://hilliardeducationfoundation.org/donate-now/. They can also be mailed to: Johnna Sprokett, 4428 Trailane Drive, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 (memo: 'Steve Clark Scholarship').

Dawn, Madison and Taylor encourage sharing of statements, prayers and memories of Steve in the virtual guestbook so they can be kept forever.

Due to the current Covid-19 Health Crisis, Private Family services will be observed.
