Steven Smith

Steven M. Smith, age 45, of Hilliard, passed away August 24, 2011. Steve lived every aspect of his life with honor and integrity. He took great pride in taking care of his wife, sons and mother; as well as his home and land. Steve was a skilled outdoorsman and especially loved hunting, canoeing, and fishing. While at Eastmoor High School, he treasured the fact that he was on the varsity wrestling and cross-country teams. He was honored to have earned the distinction of an Ohio Department of Public Safety, EMS Division certified Level II firefighter. And one of his greatest joys was being a Cub Scout Den Leader for Troop 148 and guiding the scouts to reach the "Arrow of Light." Preceded in death by father Bill Smith and grandfather Porter Smith. Survived by mother Lila Smith, loving wife Christina Smith, sons Garrett Smith, Jordan Kirk and Samuel Kirk, brother Rick Smith, sister Vicki Cunningham, nieces and nephew Lindsey, Michael, Hannah and Audra along with numerous friends who are close to his heart. Special thanks to Dusty V., Steve C., Dianna F., and Shari W. for your amazing love and support. And to my loving husband: "I love you, my knight, my angel, my best friend," Chris. A mass of Christian burial will be held 11:30 am Saturday at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026.
