Suk Cha Carey, born Chong Nae Chung, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 2, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio.

Suk Cha was born on July 13, 1941, in Seoul, Korea, to parents Okja Bae and Haiin Chung. She lived and studied in Korea until moving to the United States in 1971. Suk Cha later moved to Tacoma, Washington, and built a life with Perry Richard Brumfield Jr. and daughter Michelle (Brumfield) Savage. They welcomed the birth of their son, Ricky, in 1979. 

Suk Cha was a lover of Korean food and culture and always treated others with generosity. Always full of energy, she welcomed friends and family into her home with open arms, lots of laughter and an abundance of love. 

In addition to her parents, Suk Cha was preceded in death by her siblings, Hak Nae Chung and Kong Nae Chung, and first husband Robert Carey.

She will be missed by many, especially Perry Richard Brumfield Jr., the love of her life for over 45 years. She is survived by siblings, Kwang Nae Chung, Sunjoo Chung, Pyung Nae Chung, Yonjoo Chung and Nanjoo Provine; children, Michelle Savage and Perry Richard Brumfield III (Ricky); seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rest well beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.
