Tarik Osama El-Maraghy Youssef Moustafa El-Maraghy, born January 1, 1962 in Cairo, Egypt entered Heaven March 18, 2019. He moved to Columbus, Ohio, USA for graduate school, married in 1992, and graduated at the top of his class with a masters in civil engineering from Ohio State University in 1994, and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 2000. He returned to Cairo in 2006 and worked on projects managing the national health care pilot in Suez; the nation’s insurance authority; then served as chief risk officer at Tanmaya microfinance. He read widely about current events in two languages and saw his motherland wrecked after Egypt’s revolution in 2011. He relocated to Columbus in 2012 and started HnL Enterprises in 2013. After complications from a removed wisdom tooth, he became a vocal opponent of their unnecessary removal. Preceded in death by his father, Osama, his mother, Safaa Al-Barad, his brother Hesham, and his dear aunt Awatif. Survived by his wife, Eliza Sproat; children, Hadiya and Laila; sister Hela (Moustafa Kamal Masher); brother Amr (Samar Jammoul); sister Nahla (Mohamed Talaat Elekiaby); mother-in-law Kezia Sproat; sister-in-law Cornelia Sproat (Todd Nichols); dear cousins Maged Moustafa Manir, Nagwa Al-Barad, and other dear cousins, aunts, uncles, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are 11-12 Saturday, March 23 at Tidd Funeral Home at 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard Ohio, 43026. Private burial will take place at Union Cemetery Monday.
