Terry “T-Bird” L. Meinberg, age 66, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family and pets. Terry was born March 24, 1949 in Springfield, OH to the late Harold K. and Stella M. (Shatto) Meinberg. He graduated from Columbus West High School in 1967 and Franklin University in 1971. For more than 30 years, Terry provided for his family as a salesman where his intelligence, charisma, drive and personality shined. These traits, along with his discipline and energy, fueled his favorite pastimes – softball, football and powerlifting. He was a passionate softball coach, player and mentor; an All-American in the National Touch Football League and was inducted into the Columbus Slo-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2000. His unconditional love for his family was evident in his kindness, patience, generosity and encouragement; his three grandchildren were the joys of his life. Terry is survived by wife, Carla; daughters, Kelley (Rob and Samantha) Oliver and Erin (Dean) Barrett; sister, Cheryl Kochansky (Randy Kinzel); grandchildren, Joshua, Ella and Nora; mother of his children, Joyce McKee; mother-in-law, Anita Nardi; brothers-in-law Danny, Ray (Michele), David (Michelle); sisters-in-law Shirley (Pete) and Rose Ann. Also, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, especially Mike Easton, Nick Inboden and Doug Reed. Preceded in death by parents; father-in-law, Remo J. Nardi; uncles, Richard and Kenneth Shatto. A special thanks to the staff at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital especially Dr. Garrie J. Haas. Family and friends will gather Monday, February 29, 2016; 10 am visitation and 11 am celebration of life service at Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church, 4343 Dublin Rd. in Hilliard, OH. Reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and OhioHealth Hospice.
