Thomas Charles Devore

Thomas Charles Devore, was born February 13, 1931 to Clarence & Florence (Burtscher) Devore. He entered eternal life on March 23, 2017 at Kobacker House, Columbus Ohio. He graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School and The Ohio State University, where he met Sue Skinner in Geography class. They were married on  Thanksgiving day, November 26 1953, just before he left for a 2 year stint in the US Army in Germany at the end of the Korean conflict. He worked in the insurance business, starting his own brokerage firm, Devore & Associates, in 1989. After retiring, in 1995, Tom enjoyed gardening in his "farm" at their home in Hilliard where he was most proud of his much anticipated corn crop which grew high above his head. So much so that when the term "outstanding in his field" was used for Tom, it had more than one meaning. He had many stories of the adventures in their "rolling home" that took him and Sue all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Many of these adventures included their grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife Sue, 4 sons Paul (Michelle), John (Amy), Joe and Peter. Seven grandchildren, Jason (Jena), Jessica, Andrew, Matthew, Patrick, Samantha, Steven and Morgan and 7 great grandchildren.  Also survived by brothers George (Josette) Devore of Sebring, FL and Dave (Gail) Devore of Pinehurst, NC. Calling hours will Monday, March 27, 2017 from 9:30 am - 11 am at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard OH 43026. Funeral Mass will directly follow at 11 am.
