Thomas C. Myers

Thomas C. Myers (86) passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024.  Tom was born in Columbus, OH on May 25, 1937 to Charles S. and Bernadine M. (Fetter) Myers.  He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Lily Myers.  Tom is survived by his beloved partner of 39+ years, Marilyn Adkins; his children, Vickie (Lew) Gerrick, Jackie (Gary) Covert, Donald (Clare) Myers and Ronald Myers; his grandchildren, Ellie Myers and Abbie Myers; and his beloved cat, Mittens.

Tom graduated from Columbus North High School, class of ’55.  After high school, Tom served the Nation in the Navy Reserves and attended The Ohio State University.  He was an electrician by trade.  He first worked alongside his father learning the trade.  Later, his went to work for the City of Columbus becoming the Chief Electrical Inspector and also the Chief Building Inspector.  Tom was a member of various electrical trade associations through his career.  First and foremost, he loved his family.   He also loved farming.  He enjoyed working on his tractors and farm equipment.  He harvested hay every year.  Off the farm he was an avid project manager, drawing, planning and then executing various building project alongside his sons and son-in-law.  He loved talking to his other son-in-law about cattle and articles in the Farm & Diary publication.  He also loved spending time with his dearest Marilyn, traveling and visiting all the local diners and dives they came in proximity to.  To put Tom’s legacy into a phrase, he loved his family and always put himself last and everyone else first.  He was always kind and thoughtful of others and his honesty marked his demeanor in all his relationships.  He has left many memories and will be sorely missed.
