Thomas G. Rigo passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Doctor’s West in Columbus, Ohio. He was born to Yule G. and Rhea J. (McClure) Rigo the second of four children, John W. (Barb) Rigo, Susan M. (Jerry) Smith and Pamela J. (Clyde) Payne.
Tom was married to Martha (Marty) Hill for thirty-eight years and had two daughters, Samantha L. (David) Brill of Hilliard, Ohio and Danielle E. (Alex) Daugherty of Palm Harbor, Florida. Tom has five (5) grandchildren: Audrey, Piper and Ainsley Brill; Cole Rigo and Addison Daugherty. Tom enjoyed spending a great deal of his time with his grandchildren.
Tom served in the Army National Guard from 1971-1978. He worked for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for thirty years and has always been an advocate for saving the environment. Tom’s passion for the environment never went away, and after retirement, he began working from home for a private environmental company. Tom’s hobbies included his passion for golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Tom loved his life and his laughter was resounding and infectious.
A gathering will take place in Tom’s honor at 3 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at a private home in Hilliard, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Children’s Hunger Alliance; 370 South 5th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
