Vera E. Regenbogen

Vera Elizabeth (Petry) Regenbogen of Columbus, OH passed away to meet her Savior on October 1, 2024. Vera was born in 1933 in West Manchester, OH to parents Walter and Ola Petry. Raised on the family farm, she was the youngest sibling to brothers Harold, Edgar and Lowell and sister Wanda. She was preceded in death by her husband Karl-Heinz Regenbogen.

A career educator, Vera received her undergraduate education from Manchester and Bluffton colleges and her Master’s Degree from St. Francis College, Fort Wayne. She enriched the lives of hundreds of children over her long career teaching preschool, Kindergarten and elementary school classes. She retired in 1994 from Manchester Elementary, North Manchester, IN. Vera enjoyed church, traveling and reading; she was an especially avid reader of mystery novels. Surviving are her sons Mark (Denise) Regenbogen of Columbus and John (Jennifer Thomas) of St. Louis and her grandchildren Emmi, Lucas, Thomas and William. 

A private service will be held in Castine, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, suggested contributions can be made to Heifer International or Living Peace Church of the Brethren (Columbus, OH).
