Victoria Esson

Victoria Sylvia Esson Zuniga passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the age of 85 after a long battle with dementia.  

Victoria was born and raised in Santiago, Chile.  It was there that she met her husband Edwin P Esson while he was working at a NASA satellite station.  After marriage in 1968, they came to Columbus, Ohio to reside and raise their family of three: Christian, Barbara and Sophia.  Over the years, Victoria stayed busy by working various positions in which she befriended many people from Westland High School Students, Lazarus’ customers and many co-workers.  She knew no stranger.  Victoria later retired from OPERS.  

Victoria spent her retirement days with Edwin, her grand & great-grand children along with a few close knit friends.  She enjoyed making birthday cakes, sewing and knitting and most of all spending time with her beloved animals.  

Victoria is preceded in death by her mother Sofia Lopez and brother Hector Zuniga.  She is survived by her husband Edwin Esson, children Christian (Debbie) Esson, Barbara Remondini, & Sophia Esson.  Grand Children, Shawn(Jared) Eichenlaub, Cory (Molly) Esson, Katie Remondini, Bradley Fleming, Alejandra (Rachel) Esson, Erica (Adrian) Outlaw, Sarah(Jacob) Filla, Jennfier (Keith) Canterbury, Emma Remondini and eight great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Lexie, Jaina, Lanie, Lucy, Brooklyn, Colton, and Miles, and very dear friend, Helena Gomez.

The family would like to thank the Ohio Health Hospice and Norwich Springs Nursing home staff for the dedicated care provided to Victoria in her last remaining days.

Family will receive friends from 4pm-6pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a memorial service will follow at 6pm.
