Viola Jane Bogenrife, age 95 of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at her residence in Mount Sterling Place. She was born March 21, 1916 in Fayette County. Daughter of William (Edward) Sanders and Emma Alice Crawford. Jane was one of twelve children. Jane married Ernest Bogenrife May 5, 1932 who preceded her in death.
Jane was a member of Midway Methodist Church in Midway (Sedalia), Ohio then lived in London, Kansas, and then to Mt. Sterling.
Jane was a Manager/Hostess for the Procter Conference Center for 22 years. Ernest worked side by side with Jane for 11 years, and also did maintenance duties. Ernest and Jane helped many people in their life, and always wanted to give them a chance to make it. Jane worked hard in life by sawing wood, cutting corn, cleaning chickens, making butter, making garden, canning and butchering hogs, and finishing furniture, and above all, taking care of her family.
Jane said, “I have nothing left on my Bucket List – I have done it all”. All Jane wanted was for her two boys to have a good life.
She is survived by sons, Richard E. Bogenrife (Mary Rose) and Robert E. Bogenrife (Barbara); 3 grandchildren Gary, Tim, and Tammy Bogenrife; 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ellen Fryer.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22, 2011 beginning 12:00 Noon at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. A Funeral will be held at 1:00 pm with Richard Bogenrife officiating. The interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery, Sedalia, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions be given to Loving Care Hospice, P.O.Box 445, London, Ohio 43140.
