Virginia Cook

July 29, 1945 — April 2, 2025

Virginia “Jenny” was born in West Virginia but as a teenager, Ohio became her home. There she met her husband and they had 3 kids.

Throughout her life, Virginia faced significant losses, yet she remained resilient, strong, and had a spirit that refused to be broken. She never let hardship define her; instead, she embraced life with determination and grace. She was selfless, dedicating herself to providing for her loved ones, always putting their needs before her own. Even as she battled Alzheimer’s, her strength never wavered. She remained tough, holding onto the love she had for her family.

She was hardworking from the start and may have adjusted her age a year or two to get her first job. This prompted her husband to joke that he never knew her true age. She worked at Bron Shoe Company for over 30 years and was very proud to retire from there. She also worked at Meijer, which helped her become well-known as an expert clearance shopper. She always found the best deals and was excited to share them.

Virginia loved reminiscing about her travels, telling stories of her adventures in Spain, Martha’s Vineyard, and the Caribbean. Her tales were as rich as the life she built, full of laughter and love.

She was always there for her family, especially her grandkids. It only took a phone call for her to pick them up and take them to buy whatever their parents had said no to. She was a very proud grandma and enjoyed spoiling them.

Above all, she will be remembered for the warmth she brought to those around her, the stories she shared, and of course, her legendary green beans - something no one else will ever quite replicate.

Though words can never fully capture the love and gratitude we have for her, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those she has lost including her husband, Roger, and her daughter, Deanna.

She will be lovingly remembered by her kids Roger (Kristy), Elaine (Brian); grandkids Nathaniel (Crystal), Nicole (David), Noah, Tyler (Melissa), and Kyle; great-grandkids Blair and Gentry, and numerous family and friends that adored her.

We are sincerely grateful to the many friends who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 2pm-4pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11am. Interment Deer Creek Township Cemetery.
