Virginia Moore

     Virginia Root Moore, of Dublin, OH. sadly left us on Sunday, September 10th- after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s and ALS.  She’s left us with an abundance of memories; an everlasting, positive light for all those who knew her.

     Virginia was born on January 6th, 1951 in Morgantown, WV, where she attended Second Ward Elementary, Morgantown Jr. High School, and Morgantown High School.  She was actively involved in music and other activities, where she excelled.

     She was a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Secondary Education; teaching Civics and West Virginia History for Monongailia County; even being “knighted” by the West Virginia Knights of the Golden Horseshoe, for excellence in teaching West Virginia History.  She retired from her teaching career in 2014 after designing the State of Ohio’s standardized testing formatting.

     Virginia is survived by her former spouse, Robert L. Moore of Fairmont, WV., her two children; Jason R. Moore and husband Brian Moore of Orlando, FL. Kimberly Taylor and husband Richard Taylor of Dublin, OH, and two grandchildren, Caleb and Elijah. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents Jeryl C Root and Dorothy Jean Root, sister Debbie R. Lenhart, and grandson Isaiah Taylor.

     In life, Virginia was a consistent servant and friend to all she knew.  In this courageous battle she endured, with her Christian faith and her positive attitude; often with a hint of humor and her ability to make people laugh.  Her “hope” had a lasting and positive effect on all those around her.  It brings us great comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering, and in her forever resting place ‘till we meet again.  

     Family will receive friends Friday, September 15, 2023 from 5 pm- 6:30 pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a memorial service will follow at 6:30 pm.
