Warren Swift “Brud” Weiant III, (83), went to be with his Creator Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Columbus, Ohio. Born October 31, 1928 at home in Licking County to the late Warren S. Weiant Jr. and Eleanor Smith Weiant. Attended Ohio State University, served in the army, then returned to the family greenhouse business, Warren S. Weiant and Son in Marne. He was a respected manufacturers’ representative in the oil and gas industry almost thirty years. Warren was a valued choir member of 1st United Methodist Church of Newark, Chagrin Falls United Methodist Church, and Chagrin Valley Choral Union. Being an avid antique car and airplane restorer, he served as a consultant for Ohio Historical Society’s Ohio History of Flight Museum, Western Reserve Historical Society’s Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum, and the International Women’s Air and Space Museum to ensure the preservation of Ohio’s and humanity’s rich automotive and aviation history. Warren is survived by his wife Merlyn Sue (Sue); four children, Lucinda M. (David) Huff, Warren S. “Buck” Weiant IV , William S. “Chip” (Anne) Weiant, and Jonathan T. “Toby” (Diane) Weiant; seven grandchildren, Jessica Huff (Adam) Booth, Sarah Huff, Katlyn, Leslie, and William “Sam” Weiant, Laura and Lydia Weiant; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, James, Matthew, and Lillian “Lily” Booth; one sister, Sally M. Weiant (Dave) Snider; three cousins, Ruth Smith Richardson, Marilyn (Mem) Logan, and Warren Hanford; and numerous friends, especially those of their Scioto Ridge United Methodist church family. Funeral service will be 7PM, Monday, April 30, 2012 at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio, with David To officiating. Friends may call for visitation Monday from 5:30-7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church “Food for Homeless” fund.
