Wendell Alkire

Wendell H. Alkire, age 81, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010. Preceded in death by parents Melvin (Bill) and Fannie Alkire, step-mother Mary Laymon-Alkire, sisters Juanita Roberts –Martin (Jim Roberts, Larry Martin), Jane (Gene) Neiswander, Melva (Keith) Dentner, step-brother Dick Laymon. Survived by step-sister Ruth Laymon, and extended families. Wendell was a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from the State of Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, Attn: Gift Processing. Visitation will be Monday, January 3rd from 1pm-2 pm at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH, with service following at 2 pm with Danny Vanscoy officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Sunset Cemetery.
