William "Bill" R. Calendine

William “Bill” Roy Calendine, age 82, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at home. He was born July 30, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to Paul and Ellen Calendine. Bill attended Columbus Central High School. He retired from Omar Bakery after 34 years. On September 8, 1956 he married Margaret Anna Turner. Bill and Margaret just celebrated their 63^rd wedding anniversary. Together they raised three daughters and two sons. Bill loved fishing, taking trips to Disney World, visiting the Columbus Zoo and attending NASCAR races, and he loved making friends as he never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ellen, his daughter Cathy Mullins, son William R. Calendine, II and grandson Ted Williams. Bill is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Anna Calendine, son Paul (Cindy), daughters Patricia and Kelli (Brian) Alting, sisters Donna (Bob) Belt, Cheryl Clayton, Joan (Tim) Curry and brother Bobby (Linda) Calendine, 22 grandkids and 27 great-grandkids, and many friends. Visitation will be held FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2019 from 6:00-7:00p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where a Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation and begin at 7:00p.m. with Pastor Dennis George, officiating. Casual attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Columbus Zoo or the Metro Parks in Bill’s name.
