William T. Hunt, age 89, passed away on May 27, 2011 at Altercare of Hilliard with his loving family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee & Marie Hunt, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, and a niece & a nephew. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Wanda; devoted children: Carolyn Cox (Allen) of West Jefferson, Bill of Toronto, Canada, and Jim of Hilliard; loving grandchildren: Mark (Geri) Cox, Dale (Shannon) Cox, and Lis Cox Sanderson; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jack Elgin; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born September 26, 1921 in Tallmadge, OH and was a graduate of Liberty Union High School, Baltimore, OH. He retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in 1980 after being employed for 38 1/2 years. He was: President of the Ohio Bell Telephone Credit Union, Treasurer of the Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneers, a 60-year Mason, a Shriner, President of Chapter 8 of NCHA, and President of Ohio Unit of WBCCI Airstream. Bill was an avid radio ham operator. He enjoyed: camping, gardening, wood-working, carving, making wooden toys, and motorcycle riding. Bill spent nine years rebuilding a theater pipe organ and playing for family and friends. His favorite activities included meeting friends in Durthaler's organ classes and being treated like family at his local Bob Evans. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, June 1, 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH where the funeral service will be held Thursday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Beard officiating. A Masonic service will follow Wednesday's evening visitation. Burial will be at SUNSET CEMETERY, 6959 West Broad Street, Alton, OH. The family is especially grateful and thankful for the staffs of both the Mount Carmel Hospice and Altercare of Hilliard.
