William Marn

William L. Marn, 83 passed away April 30, 2019 at home in Hilliard, Ohio. Bill graduated in 1954 from Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the Case Institute of Technology in 1958. Bill worked for General Electric as an engineer in the quartz division for the majority of his career. After retirement he was a consultant for Eye Lighting International where he traveled to Japan, Taiwan, and China. Bill coached Little League baseball for many years, and attended many horse shows with his daughters where he brought along the best picnic lunches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank M. Marn and Grace A. Marn, sisters Elizabeth Kortan (Joe) and Sister Gale Marn OSU. Surviving family includes wife, Susan Jo Marn, children, Mary Kathryn McCarty (Roman), Jane Magni (Rick), William E. Marn (Christine) along with ten grandchildren, brothers Don Marn (Patti) and Michael Marn (Suzanne). He is also survived by his faithful dog Charlie.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday May 4 at 9:30 am at St. Margaret of Cortona, 1600 N. Hague Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43204.  Following the mass, a reception will be held from 11:00 -2:00 in the Tremont Club clubhouse at 4800 Tremont Club Dr. Hilliard, Ohio 43026.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, 2600 Lander Rd. Pepper Pike, Ohio. Inurnment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH at a later date. Arrangements completed by the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY, Hilliard, OH.
