William Marvin McNamer

William Marvin “Bill” McNamer, age 82, of Candlewood Lake in Mt. Gilead, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his home. A graduate of Hilliard High School, Class of 1955, Bill enjoyed doing things that always kept him busy: his family, yardwork and building anything and everything. He was in the construction business for most of his working life. He worked on homes, schools and businesses. When he retired, he passed the business on to his son Bill. All three of his sons, at one time, worked with their father. The business was capable of start to finish. Bill worked on the woodwork at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at OSU. He was always a perfectionist in whatever he did. Bill would work with anything and everything and with anybody. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy, children: Dave (Carmela) McNamer, Mary Ann (Jim) Starkey, Steve McNamer, Diana L. Crandall, Karen Crandall and daughter-in-law Liz McNamer. He is also survived by his sister June Scott and brother George McNamer; grandchildren: Michael McNamer, Lori Porter, Ehryn Kinzel, Danny McNamer, Chris and Erik Whittaker, Carolreen Miller, Steven McNamer, II, Carrie Saunders, Kevin Crandall, Diana K. Crandall, Kaylyn Harrison and Megan Harrison; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his son Bill, daughter Sherry, 3 sisters and one brother, grandson Austin and great-great-grandson Colton. Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00p.m. FRIDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where family will also receive friends from 10:00-11:00a.m. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2018 where his Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00a.m. SATURDAY.
