William Rush

William H. Rush (Bill or Pappy) age 83 of London, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born July 8, 1926 near Orient, Oh. to the late William F. and Blanche Redman Rush.Preceding him in death was wife Marybelle Downs Rush, second wife Mildred (Millie) Hodge Rush and granddaughter Britany Rush. Bill graduated from Scioto Twp. High School. He was active in the school band, sports, played basketball and fast pitch softball, fishing, 4-H, rode and showed his western type horses and passionate about NASCAR, a Jeff Gordan fan. He belonged to Sherman Lodge #470 at Harrisburg, Oh. He loved driving a truck and retired from the State of Ohio and Green and Sons Farm Equipment.
Survived by sons Harvey Joe of Orient, Oh. and Dean (Kathy) of Tuscon, AZ.; grandchildren Derek, Jillian and Noelle Rush. Mike (Vikki) Hodge, Leesburg, Nancy (Richard) Matson, London, Terri (Jon) Ellars, London, Steve (Kami) Hodge, London, Tonya (Richard) Buchanan, London and sister Jacquelyn Rush Writsel, Orient,Oh. Bill leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear and special friends.A Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Michael Hodge officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours will begin at 12:00 Noon until time of service.In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
