William Stafford

William G. Stafford, age 76 of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Darby Glenn Nursing Home.  He retired from Lucent Company after many years of service, retired from the US Army Reserves as a Major and served in the Vietnam War. William was inducted in the Ohio Veterans Military Hall of Fame on May 5, 2017 for Valor. He was a life member of the Hilliard American Legion Post 614, Hilliard VFW Post 4931 and Hilliard Moose Lodge #2236. Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Thelma Stafford and sister Bonnie Fitch. Survived by wife Ruth Ann, son Michael (Cheryl) Stafford, grandson Hunter William Stafford, sister Brenda Tomer, brother Bob Stafford, brother-in-law Jim Fitch, cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.  Family will receive friends Tuesday 10-11 am at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hilliard Moose Lodge #2236, 5370 Grace St., Hilliard, OH 43026.
